Willy’s 10AE Miata Clutch Replacement

Willy's immaculate 10AE Mazda Miata

Willy is from Crystal River and drives to my shop in St. Petersburg for all his Miata 10AE service and repair. Willy call me and reported high pitched squeal from time to time. When I hear that complaint/observtion from my customers I immediately thing pilot bearing for the clutch kit.

The pilot bearing is a small bearing centered in the flywheel that acts as an inner face between the transmission and engine. When it starts to seize it creates and intermittent squeal that get louder and more frequent with time. When it finally seizes completely the transmission and engine become one. The union wears the clutch out prematurely.

Willy's seized Miata pilot bearing

Best advice is the replace the entire clutch kit at that point. Willy’s pilot bearing had just started to seize and so he elected to bring his stunning 10AE Mazda Miata in and get the clutch replaced.

Jane’s 10AE Miata For Sale?

Jane brought her 10AE Miata in for a timing belt/water pump and convertible top. She is putting on a OE Blue Robbins Vinyl Top with Defroster. She is considering parting with her 10AE, but is having the work done before she parts ways. I have included a few photos. This nice 10AE Miata has 100k Miles on it and has been very well cared for. She is one of five 10AE customers. These are special cars and I am sure that this 10AE won’t be on the market long. I already have a Miata customer interested in taking a look. Let me know if you are interested.

Elaina’s 93 Miata Door Replacement

Elaina’s door was crushed shut and had to replaced before it goes to the body shop. I had to cut into the door to unlock the door latch manually due to damage. Once the Miata’s door was off, I was able to pull the window regulator, door latch and mirror off the old door to be reinstalled on the new (used) door. The interior door panel was damaged getting the door and had to be replaced. The new door hung very well adjusted to open and close very nicely. This door swap was a big success and now its off to the body shop.

Parting out Dona’s Miata

Long time customer Dona Vence’s 1991 Mazda Miata was recently hit in the rear and the insurance company totaled her Miata after estimating it would cost $4500 to bring it back. Raymond, Dona’s husband, bought the car back from the insurance company for $600. Raymond and I talked and both agreed that we part the Miata out and make enough back to help purchase a new car for Dona. This car runs and the AC is cold. If you would like to purchase part or this entire car please contact me.092209135409220913550922091353

Let the sun shine in

Mazda MX-5

($21,750-$29,290)

Proving that a low price doesn’t mean low on thrills, the MX-5-once known as the Miata-remains true to its mission as a fun, affordable, two-seat sports car. Many automakers have tried to copy it and got it wrong. It’s simple: low price, four cylinders, two seats, six speeds, good looks and a top that drops.

Richard’s got props.

Stuart: Just dropping you a note to say thanks for the work on my 10 year anniversary edition miata. When my buddy gave me your name he told me what a great guy you were, but never have I met someone with such knowledge about Miata’s! Your racing background really shows through.

I was most impressed with how you fixed the problems I ended up with from the “dealer”. Made that mistake twice and never will again.

I also am thankful to you for being so honest about things I thought “should” be fixed and what really was wrong. Hell, you saved me a ton of money just on that alone. But it is you passion for these cars that is unmatched. I’m embarrassed to bring it to you dirty now.

My car runs so much better than ever just like my friends car after you worked on his. As a result I look forward to your racing expertise to help me “play around” with any modifications I’d like to make while retaining the strength and integrity of the car. I believe you know exactly where that balance is for me. I will pass on your name to other Miata lovers.

Thanks again.

Karen B.’s 1999 also needed repair and maintenance.

Karen Bresko was just recently had her 1999 Mazda Miata in for a new top and while she was in she also opted for some maintenance. I replace her motor oil and filter along with her air and fuel filter. She also needed her window switch and electric antenna staff replaced. Her front body work had been wacked and needed to be disassembled and then reassembled to make it right again. Every thing that I did came out great. Karen called today to thank me for all the work that I did and that she was enjoying her Miata once again.

Denso filter only. The very best and hard to find.DSC00199DSC00201DSC00149
